Hundreds of candidates march through Patna demanding immediate notification of teacher recruitment exam

A large-scale protest erupted in Patna on Friday as hundreds of teaching job aspirants took to the streets against the delay in the notification of the BPSC TRE 4.0 recruitment examination.

The demonstration reflected growing frustration among candidates waiting for the next phase of teacher recruitment in Bihar. Protesters demanded that the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) immediately announce the examination schedule, vacancy details, and official notification for TRE 4.0.

The issue has become a major concern among lakhs of teaching aspirants across the state who have been preparing for government recruitment exams for months.

Protest March Begins From Patna College

The protest march began near Patna College, where a large number of aspirants assembled carrying banners and raising slogans against the delay in the recruitment process.

Candidates marched toward Dak Bungalow Chowraha, one of Patna’s busiest commercial and administrative junctions, seeking to draw the government’s attention to their demands.

Demonstrators accused authorities of repeatedly delaying recruitment announcements, creating uncertainty over future teaching appointments and disrupting preparation plans for thousands of students.

Police Stop Protesters Near Gandhi Maidan

As the crowd moved toward central Patna, police personnel stopped the protesters near Gandhi Maidan by placing barricades to prevent further movement.

According to officials, tensions briefly escalated when some demonstrators allegedly attempted to cross the barricades. Police later used mild force to disperse the gathering and restore order in the area.

SP (Central) Diksha stated that action was taken after protesters tried to breach security arrangements during the demonstration.

The situation was later brought under control, though several aspirants continued raising slogans demanding clarity from BPSC and the state government.

Aspirants Express Frustration Over Recruitment Delays

Many teaching aspirants said the prolonged delay in the TRE 4.0 notification has created serious anxiety among candidates preparing for government teaching jobs.

Students claimed they have been waiting for official updates regarding exam dates, eligibility criteria, and vacancy announcements for several months.

Several protesters expressed concern that continued delays could impact the age eligibility of candidates nearing upper age limits for recruitment examinations.

Others highlighted the financial and emotional pressure faced by aspirants who spend years preparing for competitive government recruitment exams while remaining uncertain about future opportunities.

Teacher Recruitment Remains Major Employment Issue in Bihar

Teacher recruitment has emerged as one of the most significant employment issues in Bihar over the past few years.

The earlier phases of the Teacher Recruitment Examination conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission attracted massive participation from candidates across the state and other parts of India.

Government teaching jobs continue to remain among the most sought-after employment opportunities due to job stability, social status, and long-term career security.

The delay in fresh recruitment announcements has therefore become a politically sensitive issue, especially among the state’s youth population.

Growing Pressure on Bihar Government and BPSC

The latest protest is expected to increase pressure on the Bihar government and BPSC to provide clarity regarding pending recruitment schedules and upcoming examination timelines.

Experts say delays in public recruitment processes often trigger widespread dissatisfaction among youth, particularly in states where government employment remains highly competitive.

The aspirants have demanded that authorities immediately release the TRE 4.0 notification and ensure a transparent, time-bound recruitment process to avoid further uncertainty and unrest.

Education Sector Recruitment Under Spotlight

The protest also brings renewed attention to the broader issue of vacancies in Bihar’s education sector and the need for timely recruitment to strengthen government schools.

Education experts have repeatedly stressed the importance of filling vacant teaching positions to improve classroom quality, student-teacher ratios, and overall educational infrastructure in the state.

As pressure mounts from job aspirants and student organisations, all eyes are now on the Bihar government and BPSC for an official response regarding the future roadmap for TRE 4.0 recruitment.
