Agency says AI surveillance, GPS-tracked logistics and digital security systems were deployed to ensure transparency in India’s largest medical entrance exam
National Testing Agency has stated that the NEET-UG 2026 examination was conducted under a comprehensive security framework amid an ongoing probe by the Rajasthan Special Operations Group (SOG) into alleged irregularities.
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, one of the country’s largest competitive examinations for undergraduate medical admissions, was held on May 3 across thousands of centres nationwide.
In an official statement released on social media platform X, the NTA emphasized that maintaining the integrity and credibility of national-level entrance exams remains its top priority.
Multi-Layer Security Systems Implemented
According to the agency, several advanced technological and logistical safeguards were deployed during the examination process to prevent malpractice and ensure secure handling of question papers.
The NTA said question papers were transported in GPS-tracked vehicles equipped with unique traceable watermark identifiers to monitor movement and detect any unauthorized access or leakage attempts.
In addition, examination centres were monitored using AI-assisted CCTV surveillance systems connected to a centralized command and control room for real-time supervision throughout the exam duration.
Officials stated that biometric verification, digital attendance systems, and strict entry protocols were also implemented at various centres.
Rajasthan SOG Probe Raises Concerns
The clarification comes amid reports that the Rajasthan SOG has initiated an investigation into alleged irregularities linked to the examination.
While details of the probe have not been fully disclosed, the development has once again brought focus on the vulnerability of competitive examinations in India following controversies involving paper leaks and exam malpractice in recent years.
The NTA said it is cooperating closely with investigating agencies and will extend full support in uncovering any violations if detected.
